choose a category or click on the product to find out more

After a product is discontinued, we move it to this area. We rarely focus on updating these pages so as we improve the rest of the website these pages will get more buggy as our website moves further away from the expected code that these pages were originally made for. You might find issues with white text on white backgrounds, audio files that no longer work, or broken links to 3rd party resources that no longer work.

However, we figured it’s best to keep pages for old/discontinued products rather than bin them as they can be a valuable resource for amp collectors and owners of this gear.

TINY TERROR CHANNEL | FAT CHANNEL | BIG SOUND | PORTABLE

OFTEN IMITATED, NEVER EQUALLED

The Dual Terror is a direct descendant of the iconic Tiny Terror, which turned the guitar world upside down. Heralded by Guitarist Magazine as ‘the most important guitar product in the last 30 years‘, it was the original lunchbox amp head, and continues to set the standard by which all other low-wattage valve amplifiers must be judged. Though discontinued, the Tiny Terror lives on…

With four EL84s delivering 30 Watts, the Dual Terror head is the most powerful amp in the Terror range, offering two channels of that famous Tiny Terror tone – with double the headroom. Flexible power switching options and a straight-to-the-point control panel make this a great “grab and go” amp that wouldn’t be out of place on any stage.

THE TINY TERROR BUT MORE | UNCOMPLICATED DESIGN | VALVE BUFFERED FX LOOP

THE LUNCHBOX AMP WITH A DARKER SIDE

Picking up where the original Tiny Terror left off, the Dark Terror takes this classic ‘lunchbox amp’ formula and gives it a dark, modern twist. Designed to put high-gain heavy tones first, the 4-stage preamp borrows technology from our flagship amps, packing the best of Orange saturation into a portable, 15 Watt package. Equipped with our all-valve FX Loop and output power switching, the Dark Terror summons not only demonic distortion but also great clean and crunch tones. This deceptively simple amp does so much more than just Metal.

HIGH GAIN IS JUST THE BEGINNING

With four cascading stages, the Dark Terror has enough juice on tap for even the most distortion-hungry modern Metal players. With the same meticulously-engineered gain structure as our flagship Dual Dark and Rockerverb amps, this little devil is designed for maximum clarity and articulation, even with maximum gain. And, just like it’s high-wattage brethren, the Dark Terror’s Gain control can be rolled right back to reveal a more than capable array of clean, crunch and Blues tones.

SHAPE CONTROL

This intuitive feature can also be found on the Dark Terror’s stadium-filling bigger brother, the 100/50W Dual Dark. Packing a whole lot of control into a single dial, the Shape knob adjusts the amp’s midrange voicing by cutting mids whilst simultaneously boosting bass and treble. Turn anticlockwise for a thick, mid-heavy punch or clockwise for a classic ‘scooped’ Metal tone.

VALVE-BUFFERED EFFECTS LOOP

No modern amp would be complete without a great FX Loop. Our highly-transparent, all-valve design makes sure your signal path gets nothing but the best treatment, no matter how complex your pedal setup.

A 4 stage Tiny Terror with a tube [valve] effects loop. Similar to the lead channel on the TH30 but the shape has been re-voiced so you get more chime.

This amp is the perfect high-gain partner for recording and medium-sized gigs.

The Dark Terror does its job brilliantly – and that job is to kick hairy arse.

12AX7/ECC83 PREAMP VALVE | UNEXPECTEDLY LOUD | AUX INPUT

TINY AMP, ENORMOUS TONE

The Micro Terror is a global phenomenon. Taking its inspiration from the original Tiny Terror, this miniature monster couples a valve preamp to a solid state output section for enormous tones that make a mockery of its pint-sized frame.

Weighing in at under 1 kilo, the Micro Terror is arguably the most portable amp head on the market. When paired with its matching PPC108 cabinet, the Micro Terror’s Aux Input and Headphone output make it a perfect practice partner, small enough for even the most cluttered sideboard.

However, don’t be fooled by its miniature footprint because size is the only thing that is small about this amp. With a high tensile steel casing, the Micro Terror is built to the same high standards as the rest of the Terror family and features a single ECC83 (12AX7) preamp valve, coupled to a solid state power amp. The depth of sound (and volume) that this little thing pushes out is truly staggering, with Orange growl and bite in abundance. What’s more, the Micro Terror can be used with any 8-16 Ohm speaker cabinet.

VALVE PREAMP | FX LOOP | CABSIM HEADPHONE

WELL, YOU DID ASK FOR IT…

Building on the overwhelming success of our acclaimed Dark Terror and Dual Dark amps, we’ve distilled thousands of customer demands into a pint-sized valve hybrid head – the Micro Dark.

The Micro Dark shares the same intuitive Shape control combined with a new ECC83 (12AX7)-driven high gain preamp section, yielding screaming dirty tones that make a mockery of its miniature frame. Like its bigger brothers, however, the Micro Dark’s smoky black chassis and simple layout actually disguise its cunning versatility.

Of course, there’s plenty of gain on tap to satisfy even the most discerning devotee of distortion, but this little beast is by no means just a one-trick Metal monster! Beneath the menacing exterior you’ll find a rich and diverse palette of classy and confident tones. From squeaky clean to brash and mean – whatever your style – you’re gonna love this thing.

Other features include a transparent, fully-buffered effects loop and a headphone output with our popular CabSim circuitry. With the optional PPC108 cabinet, the Micro is an ideal practice rig… Plug into something a little larger, though, and you might find your new secret weapon in the studio!

Taking our pocket-sized powerhouse concept one step further, we’ve brought you the Terror Stamp. Packing all of the punch of the minuscule Micro Terror and Micro Dark amps into an even smaller pedal format, this Valve/Solid State hybrid amp brings 20 Watts of killer Orange tone right onto your pedalboard.

The Terror Stamp’s tiny footprint, 8/16 Ohm Speaker Output, fully-buffered FX Loop and CabSim headphone output integrate seamlessly with your other pedals, whether you’re rocking a loud stage, recording direct or practising into the early hours.

KEY FEATURES

IMPROVED DESIGN

The Terror Stamp is based on the Micro Dark with a few minor tweaks to the gain structure and the CabSim, with the added feature of being able to set up two volume levels and switch between them.

ALL-ANALOGUE HYBRID DESIGN

Typically-Orange simplicity, unmistakably-Orange tone. The Terror Stamp’s hybrid Valve/Solid State design gives you the best of both worlds. From crystal-clean to thundering high-gain, the ECC83 (12AX7)-based preamp has all the harmonics, dynamics and feel you’d expect, while the 20W Class AB Solid State power amp keeps things small, dependable and sounding great at any volume.

SWITCHABLE MASTER VOLUME

Footswitchable Master Volume controls give you the Terror Stamp’s full range of sounds at two different volumes. Jump right out of the mix for that all-important solo, without sacrificing your carefully crafted tone.

SHAPE CONTROL

Our exclusive Shape knob crams a whole load of character and control into a single dial. Turn anticlockwise for a mid-forward voicing or clockwise for a classic scoop.

BUFFERED EFFECTS LOOP

Just like our full-size amps, we’ve given you a fully-buffered, low-impedance FX Loop. Long cable runs? No Problem. True Bypass pedals? Great. The Terror Stamp fits right into your signal chain without ever compromising sound quality. Not only that, but connecting directly to the FX Return turns this little monster into a 20W power amp for whatever pedals, preamps or modellers you can throw at it – with a headphone output too!

CABSIM HEADPHONE OUTPUT

It wouldn’t be the perfect pedal amp without a headphone output. Our tried-and-tested, analogue CabSim circuit provides instant access to a very Orange-flavoured 4×12 speaker emulation. Just the thing for late-night practice with headphones, ‘silent’ recording or running direct to PA. The Headphone Output works simultaneously with the Speaker Output for maximum versatility.

The most portable 20 Watt amp ever, and it’s still class A/B so it sounds good.

“I was impressed with how the Terror Stamp condenses the appeal of Orange Amps into such a small, versatile package.”

Editor’s Choice NAMM 2020 – April Edition

Does this cheap $200 amp suck? Nope. It kinda rocks!

Its size, sound and price make it a winner and likely one of the best NAMM 2020 releases.

I am genuinely impressed with the Terror Stamp

I think it’s brilliant.

This is a fantastic utility for miniature pedal boards and fly rig solutions.

If you want to have the smallest, volume packing solution for playing live or just have fun at home that’s a real good option right there.

Thanks to the analogue circuit design, the Terror Stamp feels every bit as great to play as you’d expect from an Orange amplifier.

There is no shortage of filth underfoot here

FROM BEDROOM TO HEADROOM | TWIN CHANNEL | ICONIC TERROR STYLING

YOU ASKED, WE DELIVERED

Capable of 15, 7, 1 or 0.5 Watts of output, the Rocker 15 Terror is the head-only version of the enormously popular Rocker 15 Combo that moves seamlessly from the home, to the studio, to the stage. Finally, a small, two channel, bedroom-friendly all-valve amp that you can legitimately gig!

With the Rocker 15 Terror set wide open, smaller venues are comfortably taken care of. Thanks to the same beefy transformers as the combo version, the Rocker 15 Terror has a remarkably potent delivery which takes full advantage of its EL84 output section. Even when scaling back the power, the amp’s tone stays fat and full, oozing warm valve compression and saturation without disturbing the neighbours.

Clever options aside, the Rocker 15 Terror has real character – a twin channel design with a twist. The Natural channel is a purist’s dream with just a single knob: Volume. Finely balanced and supremely playable, this channel is perfectly voiced to bring out the ‘natural’ sound of the instrument under your fingers (or the pedals under your feet). The ‘Dirty’ channel is a more familiar affair with controls for Gain, Volume and a three band EQ section. Both channels are very sensitive to touch and playing dynamics, making Rocker 15 Terror very versatile despite its straightforward, player-friendly layout.

The amp also features a proper, valve driven effects loop for total purity from input to output. So, whether you need a rig for low-volume practising, recording, or to be heard on the club circuit, the shape-shifting Rocker 15 Terror will show itself to be the amp for every occasion.

FROM BEDROOM TO HEADROOM

This amp switches between 15, 7, 1 and half a Watt. When in Bedroom mode, the circuit has been designed to retain the springiness and feel that we love about valve amps, a sensation that often gets lost with some attenuator designs. This makes for great tones in the practice room or in the studio, with the option to step up a gear to full power 15 Watt mode for the stage.

TWIN CHANNEL DESIGN

If you’ve ever wondered what your guitars or your pedals actually sounded like, the Rocker Series amps are a joy to play. The ‘Natural’ channel features just one control for volume and is voiced for absolute transparency. Single coils ring out with true clarity and humbuckers sing with woody overtones. Cleaner settings produce clear, glistening tones whilst cranking the volume reveals a bluesy crunch that loves to be kicked harder with boost and overdrive pedals. Quite literally, you get out what you put in. The ‘Dirty’ channel has a more traditional look with Gain, Master Volume and a three band EQ. It too can be set on the cleaner side as a second rhythm sound, or dialled for various flavours of British grit for leads. (Optional FS-1 footswitch sold separately)

ENGINEERED TO BE PLAYED

At Orange, we expect our amps to work for a living. For the best possible tone and durability, this Terror uses the same proprietary transformers found in all of our iconic Terror Series (excluding the Dual Terror) Like our latest flagship valve amp heads, this Terror does away with plastic connector blocks and ribbon cables in favour of hand-soldered flying leads. The chassis-mounted switchgear is secured to the classic Terror series enclosure. As for the amp’s effects loop, we’ve opted to keep the signal path all-valve to preserve the amp’s tonal integrity.

My main reason behind the design of the Rocker 15 was partly down to the fact that guitar players were still asking me to bring back the discontinued Rocker 30. I wanted to add a tube FX loop to the original front end and at the same time, make a smaller version.

“This amp is absolutely wicked! I don’t know what else to say.”

Chris Vinnicombe demos the Rocker 15 Terror

If you want the Orange sound in a mobile package and can’t live without great cleans, then you should really consider this 15 Watt Monster!

While the Rocker 15 Terror is a very different circuit to the old Tiny Terror, it represents to me a near- perfect refinement of that design.

150 LIMITED RUN | MADE IN USA | ALL VALVE

MK ULTRA – The Marcus King Signature Amp

Created in conjunction with guitar prodigy and Grammy Award-nominated singer–songwriter Marcus King, the MK Ultra is our first-ever amplifier designed with Orange USA and built in the USA. Using the highest-quality components available, including American-made custom Heyboer transformers, this hand-wired 30-watt all-valve guitar amplifier represents a marriage of classic American and British tonal sensibilities. Make no mistake though, this is not a copy of a previous design with slight modifications. This is a unique innovation that offers a new approach to the trademark Orange sound.

The MK Ultra features carefully tuned input circuitry that not only responds amazingly well to different volumes and tone settings on your guitar but also takes pedals extremely well and moulds them into the tone instead of sitting them on top. This is driven by a pair of 12AX7 preamp valves feeding into a power amp section consisting of two 6L6GC power valves that are cathode-biased. This choice of output valves is a first for Orange, bringing out all the harmonics and touch sensitivity that Marcus demands.

Although this is a unique artist signature model (only 150 made), players from many different genres will be able to dial in their own tones and sounds. From country to blues, classic rock to jazz fusion, and everything in between, the range of this simple three-knob design has to be heard to be believed.

TAILORED EQ FIT FOR A “KING”

This one-of-a-kind circuit design features EQ controls in different parts of the circuit that are totally independent. The specific ranges and frequencies of these controls were voiced for Marcus, making it impossible to dial in a bad sound.

The VOLUME control

The Volume knob on this amp is as much a tone control as the Sing and Deep controls due to the circuit design and how it interacts with the dynamics of your playing. With the MK Ultra being a cathode-biased amp, it is urgent, with a fast response time at low volume settings, making it a perfect partner for your pedal board. As you increase the volume control you will hear more saturation with the 6L6s starting to break up, giving you a spongy attack that will start to sing and make you want to play more and more. Even at full volume, you still have clear control via your guitar’s volume knob.

The SING (treble) control

This can also be described as a variation input bright control, bringing you the tone you need for the atmosphere you’re playing in. Adjust the sound to pair perfectly with your guitar.

The DEEP (bass) control

Think of this as more of an overall thickening to the sound. Start with it all the way down and, after finding the Volume and Sing levels you want, increase the Deep control until you find the thickness you want.

“For me to have a signature amp with Orange is just like a childhood dream that’s come true. It’s a uniquely crafted American amplifier by a British company for a uniquely crafted American Man”

BUILT IN ENGLAND | CLASSICAL STYLE | LEGENDARY PLAYERS

30 WATTS OF BRITISH CHIME

The AD30 really is a one-stop shop for all shades of pure British chime and crunch. Every retro, Class A tone you need is right here, thanks to four EL84s, a GZ34 (5AR4) valve rectifier and a pair of 2-stage channels, each providing a different flavour of no-nonsense Orange tone. Whether you’re looking for shimmering cleans, edge-of-breakup jangle or fire-spitting classic crunch, the AD30 has it all in a simple, road-proven package.

TWO CHANNELS – VINTAGE AND VERSATILE

Two completely independent channels, each with two stages of gain and and a straightforward control layout, make it effortless to dial in any combination of vintage tones. Voiced to be similar enough to work together but different enough to have their own characters, both channels will go from crystal-clean to thick-and-filthy, or anywhere in between.

Interacting beautifully with the EL84 power amp, Channel One is good enough to be an amp on its own, ranging from bell-like chime to Classic Rock grit. Channel Two is the same personality – but in a bad mood! A touch more gain and a snotty, aggressive edge make this the perfect channel for cutting leads and pounding riffs.

VALVE RECTIFIER

The GZ34 rectifier valve is crucial to the AD30’s great tone. Natural compression and sag in the power stage provide a responsive and dynamic playing experience, adding just the right amount of sweetness to the lively, in-your-face character of the amp.

UK BUILT TRANSFORMERS

Like all Orange valve amplifiers, the AD30 uses our own proprietary transformer design. Built in the UK, this painstakingly developed recipe is what gives the AD30 not only its unrivalled tone but also its reputation as one of the hardiest amps on the world’s biggest stages.

The interesting thing about this amp is that it has two completely separate signal path pre-amps and the master volume is on both of those preamps. If they’re up to 10, they’re out of the circuit so they really are vintage amps.

“My Orange AD30 is the the perfect companion to my lap steel tone. The grittiness of its tube driven overdrive packs the perfect punch. No BS, just badass.”

“The AD 30 is the best and most solid amp I’ve ever used. It’s a great amp to play live with and also works really well in the studio. It has the perfect amount of grit, and has a very wide dynamic range so that low and high sounds are totally clear and audible. It’s a real winner.”

“When the band first started, the AD30R was the first thing that I bought: the first time I plugged into one it was the sound I’d always had in my head. I’ve changed my main guitar, my main pedal over the years but the AD30 is still my main amp and I imagine always will be. I’ve tried pretty much everything else over the years and nothing comes close. It’s reliable too: I’ve put some serious miles on mine, both literally and figuratively and I’m still using the same one I bought all those years ago. It’s done every show and every session since we began and is a vital part of the sound of the band. I wouldn’t feel comfortable using anything else: it’s the sound I love.”
“The AD30 is one of the most versatile amps. Two separate channels with two absolutely different sounds, both vintage and modern-raw at the same time. From the cleanest, sweetest and roundest sound to the dirtiest, meanest and heaviest high-gain blast! Pure valve sensation and Orange’s extra bite!”

“The AD30 is a great amp for me and I got to put it to test. Great low and mids. Lotta punch for a tube amp. Really even tone with a great bite. Matching it with 4×12 cab really worked for me.”

“We have an Orange AD30 in our studio (OVNI Estudio in Llanera – Asturias). We have recorded many times with it because it has a super versatile character and a vintage sound that we all love.”

I use a Gibson Les Paul Studio with stock pickups and it sounds great. I play anything from Death Cab to The Fall Of Troy, but nothing too br00t4lz past that. It’s really great from Indie rock like arctic monkeys to doom metal like the sword. it’s as if Orange modeled it after a Vox AC-30 but gave it more grit. Doesn’t hiss when turned up. People seem to complain about Orange being a one trick pony and I dissagree because it cleans up really well and I can get many different clean and distorted sounds out of it with just the dry signal.

The Orange AD30TC has all the characteristics of the best boutique amps and sounds just as good, so why isn’t it better known? Jimmy Page used two AD30 heads at the Led Zeppelin reunion concerts in 2007 and you can’t get much more exposure than that, but here’s no getting away from the fact that modern hi-gain amps are taking centre stage at the moment, which is a shame, as the sensationally classic guitar tones that the AD30TC produces qualifies it for a piece of the action too.

The AD 30 is an amp that is at home in subtle overdrive and fat rock territory… it offers great sounds for classic rock styles!

ALL VALVE | BUFFERED EFFECTS LOOP | 15 WATTS

A COMPACT PACKAGE, BURSTING WITH SOUND

It’s roughly the weight of a bowling ball, and about the size of a shoebox, but don’t think for a second that the OR15’s compact stature (and therefore its incredible portability) comes at the expense of character or sonic heft: this pint-sized package is as overflowing with classic Orange tone as its bulkier relatives, delivering clean chimes full of purity and precision, a stately crunch at the edge of breakup, and an up-to-11 maximalism that rings out at full saturation, all with convenience and authority.

Don’t think that 15 watts of power means it’s just for practising, either: this is one of the loudest 15-watters you’ll ever hear, happy at all but stadium gigs, thanks to its robust, proprietary transformers, offering miles of headroom and almost endless possibilities for different gain structures. Indeed, with a simple-yet-powerful three-band EQ allowing you to season your tone to taste, the versatility of of the OR15 is perhaps its greatest asset: roll off the gain and bass for deliciously glassy funk, or do the reverse to turn this plucky little box into a fire-spitting monster, with gorgeously musical articulation even at its most overdriven.

Chuck in a valve-buffered effects loop that puts modulation pedals at exactly the right spot in your sound-making chain, and the OR15 has everything necessary to become the go-to amp for players of any style.
