A message from our founder and CEO, Cliff Cooper: https://youtu.be/gjYw-wn3ZnY

3 years ago Orange Amplification began their yearly tradition of giving away an offensive amount of gear to their fans and customers. This year is no different and Orange is expanding the competition and their budget to grant even more wishes.

Last year Orange gave away almost $6,000/£4,000 worth of gear to Facebook fans which, included amps and combos from their Crush Pro, Crush, Dark and Terror series. That figure is expected to be even higher this year with more gifts and more gear to be given to anyone who enters around the world – no purchase or sign-up necessary.

To enter the competition, simply comment on Orange’s Facebook page (in the video post) what you would like this holiday season between Tuesday 10th and Friday 25th December 2015. To double your chances share the post. Winners will be announced Christmas day. As a bonus, Orange will give away x5 Micro Darks, x5 PPC108 speaker cabs, x5 Orange Headphones, and x50 Orange Online Beginner Guitar Lessons – chosen at random from anyone who enters.

Good luck to everyone and may we wish you the happiest of holidays!

Orange Amplification Honoured For Fourth Year In A Row

Orange Amplification is proud to have won the Total Guitar, Guitar Amplifier Of The Year 2015 with the Orange Crush 35RT. This is the fourth year in a row Orange has won this prestigious award, which was voted for by readers of Total Guitar on the MusicRadar website. The award was announced at the 2015 Music Industry Awards, in association with NAMM, which took place on the 12th November at The Hilton London Metropole Hotel.

New for 2015, the Crush 35RT follows in the footsteps of previous Guitar Amplifier Of The Year winners; the Signature #4 Jim Root Terror Head (2012), the OR100H (2013) and the Dual Dark 50 (2014). Launched to rave reviews, the Crush 35RT is the largest, most feature laden model in the Orange Crush range. ‘It has plenty of classic and modern Orange tone on tap,’ said Total Guitar’s review, ‘sounding equally great at bedroom levels or cranked up with a band. Both the clean and dirty channels sound warm, fat and punchy, fooling you into thinking you’re hearing a much bigger valve amp, rather than a compact solid state combo.’

The event was a major celebration of the whole UK music industry’s best selling, most reliable and most innovative products, top retail initiatives and outstanding individuals and organisations. The awards were attended by senior figures from across the music industry.

Speaking about receiving this prestigious award for the fourth consecutive year, Cliff Cooper, Orange Amplification’s founder, CEO and winner of the 2011 Living Legend Award said, ‘It is humbling to realise that so many members of the public took the time to vote for our products once again. The whole team at Orange works extremely hard to ensure the amplifiers we develop and sell deliver what guitar players want. I would like to say a big thank you to all who voted for the Crush 35RT and to everyone at Orange.’

Responding to thousands of customer requests, Orange Amplification is delighted to present the Orange Micro Dark. This new pint-sized valve/solid-state hybrid head joins a well established dark brotherhood that includes the Dark Terror and Dual Dark amps. Cowled in smoky black, the Micro Dark shares the same intuitive Shape control as its older siblings, sporting a deceptively simple layout which disguises the amp’s cunning versatility.

Hidden beneath the Micro Dark’s exterior is a wealth of sophisticated and assured tones courtesy of a new 12AX7 driven, high gain preamp. These range from classy and clean, to brash and mean, with more than enough grunt to satisfy the most observant disciple of distortion. Coupled with a solid-state power section capable of 20W of output and shocking levels of volume, the amp can be paired with any 8-16 Ohm speaker cabinet. Whatever the situation, the Micro Dark never fails to make a mockery of its miniature frame.

Other features include a transparent, fully buffered effects loop and headphone/line output with Orange’s signature CabSim circuitry – ideal for recording. With its matching PPC108 speaker cabinet, the Micro Dark makes for a perfect portable practice rig which also mics up superbly in the studio. To properly shake things up however, plug into a full sized Orange PPC412 and unleash the full potential of this remarkable micro amp head.

Nico Santora of Suicidal Tendencies agrees: “I’ll never forget when it was first shown to me, I was just like, ‘Wow, I’ve never seen a micro amp THAT small’. And then we plugged it in… and I literally lost my mind with excitement. The Orange Micro Dark is about to take over band practice. I’m able to plug into a full 4×12 cabinet, and it feels and sounds like a monstrous 100 Watt amp. I remember just staring at the thing wondering how it could produce such powerful tones! The Micro Dark really is a game changer.”

Small Size, Big Sound

The OBC210 Mini is Orange Amplification’s smallest ‘conventional’, non-isobaric cabinet to date. As part of the successful OBC Series, used by the likes of Geddy Lee, Glenn Hughes and John McVie, the new 2×10 ensures the maximum punch from the smallest available space. It combines portability and solid construction with an assertiveness that belies its compact size.

This latest cabinet is constructed using birch plywood. This choice of material creates a well balanced and resonant enclosure adding presence to the overall sound. The OBC210 Mini comes complete with the Orange signature skid runners to acoustically bond the cabinet to the stage and improve bass response.

Housed within the cabinet is a pair of 10” Eminence Legend speakers. Tried and tested on the road in a number of other OBC cabinets, the two 200W drivers are a perfect fit for the new design. They deliver a rich low end with great mid-range clarity making sure the OBC210 Mini bears all the sonic hallmarks of a classic 2×10” cabinet.

The new cabinet also features two Speakon connectors that allow for daisy chaining to another cabinet of the same impedance for a total load of 4 Ohms. The new cabinet’s dimensions allow it to sit comfortably on top of the OBC410 or OBC115 to create some smart looking stacks that push some serious air!

The versatile array of tones produced by the OBC210 Mini includes pronounced and detailed mid ranges, highs with smooth and satisfying character and a surprising great low-end clout. Its warmth and sharp bass response come with a gravity and boldness that will shock even the fussiest bass players.
