1 and 2. On/off switch and power indicator light

The power indicator light will illuminate when the on/off switch is set to on (“|”).

3. Battery indicator light

The battery light will start to flash red when the unit has 1–2 hours play time remaining and needs charging. The light will flash faster as the remaining time decreases. To charge the unit, connect the mains plug lead to the DC power adapter, and then connect the power adapter to the rear of the Orange Box. When charging, the battery light will glow red. A full charge from empty will take 3 hours, with the indicator light glowing green when the battery is full. The amount of playback time available from a full charge is around 15 hours, but will vary depending on the type of connection (wired or Bluetooth) and the volume of playback.

4. Treble

Adjusts the high-end response.

5. Bass

Adjusts the low-end response.

6. Volume

Adjusts the master volume.

7. Overload light

The overload light will glow orange when the unit is being pushed to amplify a signal greater than its available capacity. When this happens, the sound produced will be distorted (even perhaps imperceptibly), and the unit’s speakers will be at risk of damage. When the overload light comes on, reduce the volume of the source audio or turn down the Volume knob.

8. 3.5 mm aux-in socket

Connect one end of the the included 3.5 mm cable to this socket, and the other end of the cable to the 3.5 mm socket on your device. When a wired connection is made, the pairing light will glow green. Please note that when a wired connection is made, a Bluetooth connection is not possible.

9 and 10. Pairing light and Bluetooth pairing button

To pair the Orange Box with a source device for the first time, hold the Bluetooth pairing button on the unit for two seconds, at which point the pairing light will flash blue. Then, choose “pair new device” (or similar) on your source device and then select “Orange Box” from the list of available devices. Once a connection is made, the pairing light will glow blue. When a device is connected to the Orange Box via Bluetooth and playing audio, press the Bluetooth pairing button once to pause the music, and again to resume playback. Holding the pairing button for six seconds will force an unpairing from the current device, allowing a new device to be paired.

  2. Press and hold the Bluetooth pairing button for two seconds. The pairing light will flash blue.
