The AD30 is the amp that defined a new era of Orange. A dual-channel, all-valve head with UK-built transformers and unmistakable Orange tone, it’s designed for players who want warmth, character, and old-school breakup. Both channels have their own voice, ranging from sparkling cleans to growling classic crunch, and each reacts to your playing style with dynamic, touch-sensitive response. Whether you’re gigging, recording, or chasing that elusive sweet spot between clean and dirty in the rehearsal room, the AD30 delivers it with pure, vintage-flavoured authority. This is the amp that helped put Orange back on the map, and it still turns heads today.

In More Detail

Channel One of the AD30 is open and airy, with plenty of headroom and shimmer when clean—perfect for rhythm parts or edge-of-breakup lead tones. Channel Two brings a tighter, mid-forward voice with more gain and drive on tap, ideal for thick classic rock tones and singing solos. With its valve rectifier, the AD30 has that subtle sag and natural compression that gives your playing a more elastic feel, especially at higher volumes.

Add in a UK-made proprietary transformer and you get a response that’s fast, articulate and rich in harmonics. Each channel has its own three-band EQ and gain/volume controls, giving you two distinct characters in one handwired head. The AD30 is a modern classic: road-tough, studio-trusted, and built to be played loud.

Two channels, vintage and versatile

Unlike many twin-channel amps, the AD30 doesn’t offer a “clean” and a “dirty” channel. Instead, it gives you two takes on classic Orange tone. Channel One is open and responsive with a shimmering top-end, while Channel Two delivers a tighter feel with more midrange punch. It’s two vintage voices in one head.

Valve rectifier

The AD30’s GZ34 valve rectifier isn’t just for tradition’s sake — it’s a crucial part of the amp’s feel. It adds a soft sag under your pick attack and natural compression as you push the amp harder. The result is a super-sensitive response that rewards expressive playing.

UK-built transformers

At the heart of the AD30 are its UK-built proprietary transformers. These are designed and made in the UK specifically for Orange, delivering exceptional frequency response, high headroom and long-term reliability. It's the secret to that big, bold Orange sound, and a key reason this amp sings like no other.
