I love the 4 Stoke for its versatility, reliability and power. Not only does it have stacks of output, the EQ is the most comprehensive of any amplifier I’ve ever used. The sweepable EQ points are so useful – and the fact that they can overlap means you can really hammer a specific EQ point. This is a godsend, especially when recording, if you want to cut through a dense mix. I also love the compressor which can add loads of harmonic richness and even nice transparent drive when it’s pushed also, I actually use an AD30 as an additional amp as a mid-rangey ‘rhythm-guitar-like’ tone. The drive section is great and leads itself very well to the bite of a bass guitar. It’s a bit of a secret weapon in how to fill-out a band when a guitarist takes a solo… Dave
