Getting Noticed (1971)

Orange’s giant 24×12” and 10×15” speaker cabinets debuted in 1971, delivering huge sound and headline-grabbing impact at major trade shows.

Cliff Cooper, Orange Founder and CEO muses on getting attention: “We built massive speaker cabinets — two 24×12″ guitar cabs and a 10×15″ bass cab — for outdoor festivals.

They sounded incredible and grabbed major press attention. At the 1971 Frankfurt Trade Fair, these ‘Goliaths’ stole the show.”

“Those towering cabinets weren’t just loud. They also drew curious crowds and glowing reviews. Photos of them on stage at summer festivals helped cement Orange’s reputation for bold design and sonic power. The Goliaths became a talking point in the music press and among touring bands.”
