The Orange Log Book

Orange amps came with their own log book: tracking service history, ownership, and authenticity, just like classic cars of the era.

Cliff Cooper, Orange Founder and CEO, explains a new development in service: “Orange amplifiers left the factory with their own log book—an early guarantee card and service record. Inspired by UK car log books, it tracked the amp’s age, history, and service dates. Each customer would register their amp, enabling us to alert reps when a sale happened locally. If the amp needed servicing at an Orange centre, the work was carefully logged in the book.”

Why It Mattered

This small innovation brought real benefits. Buyers of second‑hand Oranges could check the log for genuine parts and service history, safeguarding against theft or modifications. The log book became a marketing hit, reinforcing transparency and accountability. Occasionally, amps returned multiple times for stamps, evidence that customers appreciated the care behind our brand.
