OUR TAKE ON THE 1950s COMBO

Tremlord 30

The TremLord 30 is our very British take on a 1950s-style guitar amplifier. With valve Tremolo, valve Reverb and a quartet of EL84s pushing 30 Watts, it’s every retro sound you need in a compact 1×12 package. The beautifully simple, non-master volume design is straight out of the golden age of Rock ‘n’ Roll but 15W, 2W and 1W settings allow that coveted “sweet spot” to be enjoyed at more civilised volumes. Two independent, footswitchable Tremolo Speed controls, footswitchable Reverb and a valve-driven FX Loop also help bring this old-time tone machine firmly into the present day.

FOOTSWITCHABLE VALVE TREMOLO

All-valve bias modulation Tremolo brings a palette of sounds rarely heard in the modern age – but highly sought after. This era-defining, authentic effect comes with two independent speed controls that can be selected with an external footswitch, also giving you the option to defeat the Tremolo entirely (footswitch sold separately).

Output Power Switching

There’s nothing quite like a non-master volume amp being cranked into classic power amp overdrive, but this can get way too loud for some modern stages. By switching from four to two EL84 valves (using the switch on the rear panel), and by using the Headroom/Bedroom modes, the Tremlord 30 can also run at 15W, 2W or 1W. This allows access to all shades of vintage overdrive at any level you need. Much more practical in today’s live and studio settings.

Two Spring Reverb Tank

The on-board valve-driven Reverb offers masses of depth with all the splashy, crashy character you’d expect from a vintage amp. Using a two-spring long tank, a single ECC81/12AT7 valve and our own custom transformer, this circuit is our richest sounding spring reverb design to date. Add a footswitch for switching the reverb on or off remotely.

Valve Buffered Effects Loop

A post-tremolo FX loop allows players to use proper, built-in bias modulation tremolo anywhere in a modern FX chain. Driven by an ECC81/12AT7 valve, the fully buffered, low impedance design allows the Tremlord 30 to slot right into even the most extravagant pedal setups.

It’s kinda like the amp Orange never made in the first place. It’s a quite vintage flavoured amp with more perceived clean headroom than our other 30 watt amps.

The Tremlord is a cool little amp!

When I think of Orange I think of gain. This amp has turned that on its head, it’s crystal clear.

I like the simplicity of the amp…cool tone.

Characterful cleans and inspiring reverb and tremolo for creative-minded players. 9/10 Editor’s Choice

The Orange TremLord 30 may have a very simple, classic-inspired design, but it’s hard to beat if you’re looking for an amp with highly distinctive tone unlike anything else on the market with full body, rich harmonics and expressive depth. Gold Award Winner

FROM BEDROOM TO HEADROOM | TWIN CHANNEL | ICONIC TERROR STYLING

YOU ASKED, WE DELIVERED

Capable of 15, 7, 1 or 0.5 Watts of output, the Rocker 15 Terror is the head-only version of the enormously popular Rocker 15 Combo that moves seamlessly from the home, to the studio, to the stage. Finally, a small, two channel, bedroom-friendly all-valve amp that you can legitimately gig!

With the Rocker 15 Terror set wide open, smaller venues are comfortably taken care of. Thanks to the same beefy transformers as the combo version, the Rocker 15 Terror has a remarkably potent delivery which takes full advantage of its EL84 output section. Even when scaling back the power, the amp’s tone stays fat and full, oozing warm valve compression and saturation without disturbing the neighbours.

Clever options aside, the Rocker 15 Terror has real character – a twin channel design with a twist. The Natural channel is a purist’s dream with just a single knob: Volume. Finely balanced and supremely playable, this channel is perfectly voiced to bring out the ‘natural’ sound of the instrument under your fingers (or the pedals under your feet). The ‘Dirty’ channel is a more familiar affair with controls for Gain, Volume and a three band EQ section. Both channels are very sensitive to touch and playing dynamics, making Rocker 15 Terror very versatile despite its straightforward, player-friendly layout.

The amp also features a proper, valve driven effects loop for total purity from input to output. So, whether you need a rig for low-volume practising, recording, or to be heard on the club circuit, the shape-shifting Rocker 15 Terror will show itself to be the amp for every occasion.

FROM BEDROOM TO HEADROOM

This amp switches between 15, 7, 1 and half a Watt. When in Bedroom mode, the circuit has been designed to retain the springiness and feel that we love about valve amps, a sensation that often gets lost with some attenuator designs. This makes for great tones in the practice room or in the studio, with the option to step up a gear to full power 15 Watt mode for the stage.

TWIN CHANNEL DESIGN

If you’ve ever wondered what your guitars or your pedals actually sounded like, the Rocker Series amps are a joy to play. The ‘Natural’ channel features just one control for volume and is voiced for absolute transparency. Single coils ring out with true clarity and humbuckers sing with woody overtones. Cleaner settings produce clear, glistening tones whilst cranking the volume reveals a bluesy crunch that loves to be kicked harder with boost and overdrive pedals. Quite literally, you get out what you put in. The ‘Dirty’ channel has a more traditional look with Gain, Master Volume and a three band EQ. It too can be set on the cleaner side as a second rhythm sound, or dialled for various flavours of British grit for leads. (Optional FS-1 footswitch sold separately)

ENGINEERED TO BE PLAYED

At Orange, we expect our amps to work for a living. For the best possible tone and durability, this Terror uses the same proprietary transformers found in all of our iconic Terror Series (excluding the Dual Terror) Like our latest flagship valve amp heads, this Terror does away with plastic connector blocks and ribbon cables in favour of hand-soldered flying leads. The chassis-mounted switchgear is secured to the classic Terror series enclosure. As for the amp’s effects loop, we’ve opted to keep the signal path all-valve to preserve the amp’s tonal integrity.

My main reason behind the design of the Rocker 15 was partly down to the fact that guitar players were still asking me to bring back the discontinued Rocker 30. I wanted to add a tube FX loop to the original front end and at the same time, make a smaller version.

“This amp is absolutely wicked! I don’t know what else to say.”

Chris Vinnicombe demos the Rocker 15 Terror

If you want the Orange sound in a mobile package and can’t live without great cleans, then you should really consider this 15 Watt Monster!

While the Rocker 15 Terror is a very different circuit to the old Tiny Terror, it represents to me a near- perfect refinement of that design.
