The festival is set to be a jam-packed day of music, food, and entertainment for supporters of all ages. Alongside acts like Duke of Wolves, Jordan Jackson and Vikesh Champaneri, local stalls and children’s entertainment will be available. A raffle (with a grand prize of a Fiat 500) and auction are also in the works, and expect award winning food and a full hog roast from The Great British Sausage Company.

Tickets are available below. £10 for adults or £2.50 for children. Tickets will also be available on the door, for £15 and £4 respectively.

Peter is a 23 year old young man. An MRI scan in February 2015 showed a tumour growing from within the cervical spine and was wrapped around and invading the bone at C1-C2. His throat was just a slit and he was in agony. He was admitted from the MRI unit and family were told the devastating news that he had a Cervical Chordoma which is very rare and only affects about 50 people in the world in any one year.

After biopsy, failed pain relief, multiple surgeries including titanium rod insertion and appalling care within the NHS he was sent to Switzerland for proton beam therapy which was supposed to be the gold standard treatment. Peter went out to Switzerland in may 2015 for assessment after biopsy tumour resection and rod insertion, just to be told the tumour had regrown by 20 percent and treatment was not possible until further resection of the tumour. He came back to the UK and had further de-bulking surgery and went back to Switzerland for therapy in June 2015. After eight weeks of daily therapy he returned to UK in a neck brace. In February he had a follow up MRI scan which showed the tumour was regrowing and he was started on a trial drug Imatinib. Three weeks ago he started to get tingling and numbness in his left hand and severe neck pain.

Another MRI scan showed further growth and he has now lost all feeling in his left arm, hand, legs and his body feels cold. Further de-bulking surgery was performed on Thursday 21st April to try and stop permanent paralysis. The oncologist has said there is no further treatment available and he faces a slow, agonising death as this tumour will not stop growing. His family have been fighting against the odds every step of the way and the Chordoma Foundation in America have a service where part of the tumour can be sent to be tested against numerous drugs to see if additional treatment can be given to save Peter’s life.

Come along and support Peter and stay for the music. #forpeterssake

Taking place at IndigO2 in London on 15th June 2015, the Orange Amplification presents the Metal Hammer Golden Gods in association with World Of Warships once again has the fans at its core and brings them together with the artists, shoulder to shoulder, like no other event.

“Metal Hammer wouldn’t exist without its readers, and so it’s a particular point of pride for us that once a year we get to throw them a party they’ll never forget, and admission is free,” says Alexander Milas, Editor-in-Chief of Metal Hammer & TeamRock. “The HMS Hammer is the only metal party boat of its kind anywhere in the world, and we’re frankly trembling at the thought of this year’s lineup. All aboard!”
Metal Hammer are pleased to announce the final, headline, act for HMS Hammer. That act is the legendary Napalm Death.

“Napalm Death is independent of thought and independent of action,” offers frontman Barney Greenway of Napalm Death’s nomination for Best British Band in this year’s awards. “In some ways, competing against other bands for something nice and shiny undoubtedly gives a certain warm feeling inside, but we promise we won’t be filled with hate if somebody else scoops it. Thanks though for your considerations – you’re just too kind and we’re just (deliberately) too fucking noisy.”

“At Metal Hammer we love to throw a great party – the clue is in the name,” says Alexander Milas, Metal Hammer editor-in-chief. “From the flattening volume of Upon A Burning Body and Code Orange to the riffing might of Butcher Babies, this year’s HMS Hammer is going to fly. Add grindcore legends Napalm Death to the mix and you’ve got a recipe for absolute mayhem. Anchors Aweigh!”

Our host, Anthrax icon Scott Ian, had this to say: “It’s a good thing I just found my Killers T from 1982 because I can wear it while hosting the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards! See you all down there for a night of killer bands, killer booze and killer metal! Hey, there’s a theme developing here…”

Dave Mustaine Is Announced As The Golden God

For the first time in the history of The Metal Hammer Golden Gods an award recipient is being named upfront of the night. The Golden God Award (Sponsored By Orange Amplification) will be presented to the legendary Dave Mustaine.

Taking place at IndigO2 in London on 15th June 2015, the Orange Amplification presents the Metal Hammer Golden Gods in association with World Of Warships once again has the fans at its core and brings them together with the artists, shoulder to shoulder, like no other event.

Dave Mustaine is best known as the frontman and creative force behind Megadeth, the band who in June 2015 celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the release of their seminal album “Killing Is My Business..And Business Is Good!” (originally released on the 12th June 1985).

Formed in 1983, Megadeth are one of the true pioneers and innovators of metal music. The band have sold more than 38 million albums worldwide, earning numerous accolades including 11 Grammy® nominations and scoring five consecutive platinum albums—including 1992’s two-million-selling “Countdown to Extinction”. The band have released iconic albums such as “Peace Sells..But Who’s Buying?”, “Rust In Peace”, “Countdown to Extinction” and “Th1rt3en“. The list of classic songs penned by Megadeth is long and varied, including essential tracks such as “Killing Is My Business (And Business Is Good)!”, “Wake Up Dead”, “In My Darkest Hour”, “Holy Wars…The Punishment Is Due”, “Symphony Of Destruction”, “A Tout Le Monde”, and many many more…

Megadeth’s founder, leader and primal guitar-slinger and lyricist Dave Mustaine is still a key creative force in the metal world. The band released their 14th studio album, “Super Collider, in 2013 through Mustaine’s own Tradecraft label. Megadeth have just finished recording a new studio album – due for release later in 2015.

The term is oft overused, but Dave Mustaine is a bona fide LEGEND and the Metal Hammer Golden Gods are hugely honoured to have him accept the Golden God Award in 2015.

“I am truly humbled to receive this award, and to be recognized by your peers for your accomplishments, is almost as gratifying as not being recognized by the police for your accomplices.” – Dave Mustaine

The Metal Hammer Golden God awards are a 21-gun salute to all that is great in our world” says Alexander Milas, Metal Hammer editor-in-chief. “Dave Mustaine is nothing less than the living embodiment of dedication to the craft, and it’s an absolute honour to celebrate 30 years of Megadeth’s earth-shaking debut with one of metal’s greatest guitar heroes.”
